The Atlantic Canada Coastal Waterbird Survey is a collaboration of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Canadian Wildlife Service, and Birds Canada to monitor parts of the Newfoundland coastline (small scope at this time). The goal is the monitoring and conservation of coastal waterbird populations in Atlantic Canada.

Why It Matters

The data collected by the Atlantic Canada Coastal Waterbird Survey will add to long-term data on the abundance and distribution of waterbird species along the coast. It also provides valuable baseline information in the event of a disaster such as an oil spill.
